Louis Roederer Carte Blanche Demi-Sec

The Louis Roederer Carte Blanche Demi-Sec Carte Blanche cuvee, like Brut Premier, is produced from around 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Meunier, 5% of which is wine matured in oak tuns. It is aged for 3 years in Louis Roederer’s cellars and left for a minimum of 6 months after disgorging.

Louis Roederer’s Carte Blanche NV Champagne is a demi sec champagne so it has a little more residual sugar than normal (38g/L).

With a medium body and a complexity and roundness characteristic of Roederer champagnes, the demi-sec tastes of honey with notes of ripe sweet, caramelised apple and almonds. Carte Blanche uses all 3 Champagne grape varieties from more than 40 different plots.

The wine is an assemblage of 6 years of harvesting, a part of which comes from the Louis Roederer reserve wine collection, matured in oak casks for several years. It is matured for 3 years in the cellar and rested for 6 months after disgorgement to perfect maturity.

TASTING NOTES

Carte Blanche, which has more dosage added than Brut Premier, perfectly reflects the great tradition of demi-sec champagnes. Ample, creamy, with a refined and persistent acidity that gives it a very delicate freshness, this blend has ripe fruit notes with almost caramelized accents and a flavor of honey and ground almonds.

The Carte Blanche cuvee, like Brut Premier, is produced from around 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Meunier, 5% of which is wine matured in oak tuns. It is aged for 3 years in Louis Roederer’s cellars and left for a minimum of 6 months after disgorging.
