This 2018 release from The Macallan is aged exclusively in Oloroso sherry seasoned casks from Jerez for all thirty years of its maturation. The result is a luxurious, naturally dark, Speyside single malt full of rich dried fruits and spice Macallan Sherry Oak 30 . Unsurprisingly there’s rich sherry notes on the nose, with orange clove, nutmeg and wood smoke following. The incredibly smooth palate brings dried fruits, more sherry and orange with a wisp of wood smoke, before a long and lingering spiced orange note in the finish.
A rare, well aged whisky from The Macallan Fine Oak Range. This 30 year old Speyside was matured in a mix of specially selected European and American oak casks.
